MENTOR APPROVAL: Be observed by a licensed mentor as the referee (not assistant referee) on a U16 or up match. For purposes of Idaho, you may count a high school varsity match as well. You must have a full crew of 3 referees to count as a mentoring session. Plan to visit with the mentor for 20 minutes following the match. Mentoring can occur in the fall to prepare for your in person class in the winter. Mentor request options coming soon.
LICENSE: After you have completed 100% of the online work, attended 1 in person training session, and successfully completed your mentor evaluation, you will receive an email with your license. Your referee badge will be mailed to you within 2-3 weeks. Your license is valid for a calendar year (January-December), then you must relicense each year. We begin re-licensing in July each year. If you are a referee under 18 years of age, you will also receive a "Youth Referee" armband to wear in all your matches. This provides extra you with extra protection.
MENTORING: Thanks to a grant, we offer free mentoring on 1 match for a referee moving to a significantly new level.
NEXT STEP: Get high level training, make yourself eligible for the top games in the state and region, and get paid more by moving up to Regional Referee
